Treasurer’s report – Annual Account – August expenditures were $1,793.29, with total expenditures for the year at $12,681.25. Sixty percent of the annual budget has been spent.

Townhouse Account – Expenditures for August were $5,861.68 with total expenditures for the year at $53,000.06. Sixty-four percent of the budget has been expended. There was a motion by Jenny Tricker and a second by Cynthia Didion to approve the August Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Bills received prior to the September meeting amounted to $10,086.25. The townhouse bills were $5,076.27 and the annual account bills were $5,009.98. The large annual account bill included $3758.00 for tree trimming and removal. At present, $62.00 remains in the tree and maintenance account and a number of Scotch pines need to be removed as soon as possible. Due to excellent tree growth this year, many trees are in dire need of trimming. There was a motion by Jenny Tricker and a second by Bev Morton to authorize payment of the bills. Motion carried.

Information via e-mail – The Association goal is to share information with residents while only mailing to those that do not have computer access. At this point, the bulk mailing permit has been dropped and mailing is completed by first class postage. There has been an excellent boost in e-mail addresses since the incentive was offered at the annual meeting. However, if you are still receiving this letter by regular mail and have not shared your e-mail with Treasurer Goings at sgo1010@aol.com, please do so soon. All Association residents that have submitted their e-mail address by October 1, 2015 will be entered in a drawing for a tree. The drawing will take place on October 2, 2015, and the winner will receive a 25 gallon container tree from a selection of those available at www.oakprairie.com. Still time to forward your e-mail! We really appreciate Oak Prairie providing this incentive to assist in improved information sharing.

Please take a look at the website https://www.edentonhoa.org, while it is not fully populated, we encourage residents to become familiar with the website. Townhouse resident Donald Bossung has developed the site for us and we are most appreciative.

Hospitality – Hospitality members Bev Morton, Bob Sittig and Jenny Tricker have been very busy attempting to keep up with all of the changes. Bob Sittig noted he had never seen so many changes in a short period of time. Welcome to all new residents.

Commons area – Christiansen Tree Service removed and trimmed a number of trees since the last board meeting. The contractor will be available to remove additional trees during November. The board will look into making budget readjustments as a number of trees need to be trimmed and others removed before the end of the year. Tree planting should be completed along the berm area of Old Cheney in September. The area has been staked and

cleared for digging. Board members have developed plans and are working on a system to water the trees. The contract for the fence along Old Cheney that was previously approved was signed by President Larsen and will be forwarded requesting late fall construction. The newly seeded grass on the berm is coming along well.

Irrigation system – Once again, we experienced costly repairs during the month. Recently, the control box for the well needed to be replaced and the well is now operational. We do have a backup system to provide city water in case the well is down for any length of time. Please call DeLoyd Larsen if you observe problems with the system. If DeLoyd is not available, call Daryl Swanson. The irrigation schedule is a follows: Edenton Road North – Sundays and Wednesdays, system starts at 12:15 AM; Edenton Road South, Fridays and Mondays, system starts at 12:15 AM; Thies Cove, Tuesdays and Saturdays, system starts at 12:15 AM. The irrigation system is shut down on Thursdays for mowing.

Lawn care – With timely and adequate rainfall and supplemental irrigation, the lawns at townhouse areas and the commons area are in excellent condition. Daryl Swanson handles calls regarding lawns.

Tree branch disposal – To all residents – Please do not pile tree branches and yard waste in the commons area adjacent to Glynoaks Drive. Our new tree service will not grind the pile. On two occasions this summer, board members have removed the branches left at the site and have taken them to the City of Lincoln’s disposal site. Our trash disposal service will take small branches tied in three foot bundles as they make their weekly rounds. We encourage you to use that service when you do your own tree trimming. We have also placed a small sign in the area as a reminder that dumping is not allowed.

Schools on! Each year we send this reminder, slow down, schools on, please observe all speed limit restrictions.

Thies Cove Drive – Board member Dayle Williamson is heading a committee of Thies Cove residents to consider repairs on Thies Cove Drive. This is a private drive and cost for the repairs will be incurred by the owners of the townhomes adjacent to the drive. A report will be provided to the board at the October meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P.M. The October 19, 2015 board meeting will be held at the Daryl Swanson residence.
