Information via e-mail – The Association goal is to share information with residents while only mailing to those that do not have computer access. At this point, the bulk mailing permit has been dropped and mailing is completed by first class postage. There has been an excellent boost in e-mail addresses since the incentive was offered at the annual meeting. However, if you are still receiving this letter by regular mail and have not shared your e-mail with Treasurer Goings at sgo1010@aol.com, please do so soon. All Association residents that have submitted their e-mail address by October 1, 2015 will be entered in a drawing for a tree. The drawing will take place on October 2, 2015, and the winner will receive a 25 gallon container tree from a selection of those available at www.oakprairie.com.
We really appreciate Oak Prairie providing this incentive to assist in improved information sharing.
We are also most appreciative that Don Bossung volunteered to develop a web site for the Edenton Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Don has met with the board twice, has secured a domain name and the site is being populated. A property map tied in with the Lancaster County Assessor has been developed, dues structure will be included along with Townhouse insurance reminders, building improvement requests, irrigation scheduling for town houses, recycling information and other things that will be helpful to the Edenton neighborhood. The documents section will include the monthly board meetings, the Articles of Incorporation, the By-laws and the Covenants.
Hospitality – Ownership has changed on several homes in the area and hospitality committee members are making visits with the new owners. We welcome two new residents to the neighborhood, Bob Johnson at 5400 So.74tht and Susan Brown at 5215 So. 71st. A special thanks to board members Bev Morton, Bob Sittig and Jenny Tricker for keeping up with many neighborhood changes. A number of houses have changed ownership in a short time.
Commons area – Last month the board reported that Christiansen Tree Service planned to remove a number of trees during the first two weeks of August. That did not happen. With reduction of the limits on soil disturbance, an immediate effort will be underway to accomplish this long awaited activity. In addition to soil disturbance by
tree removal, also expect further disturbance as the Lincoln Electric System proceeds to run new ductwork the electric transformers in the Commons area. At this point the contractor is completing the seeding and improvements along Old Cheney Road and during the coming months the Association will focus on tree planting as well as fence construction for the 600 foot wide area.
Irrigation system – Many repairs to the aging system have taken place this year. Breakdowns continue and there is one at present. Our service provider, Judson Irrigation has been very prompt in making significant repairs. Please call DeLoyd Larsen if you observe problems with the system. If DeLoyd is not available, call Daryl Swanson.
The irrigation schedule is a follows: Edenton Road North – Sundays and Wednesdays, system starts at 12:15 AM; Edenton Road South, Fridays and Mondays, system starts at 12:15 AM; Thies Cove, Tuesdays and Saturdays, system starts at 12:15 AM. The irrigation system is shut down on Thursdays for mowing.
Schools on! Each year we send this reminder, slow down, schools on, please observe all speed limit restrictions.
Cynthia Didion will host the September 21, 2015 meeting. Daryl Swanson will host the October 19, 2015 meeting. The meeting was adjourned 9:13 p.m.
