March Board Meeting - The meeting was held at the Daryl Swanson residence on Monday, 3/19/2018, with the following members present: DeLoyd Larsen, Louis Lemon, John Cederberg, Paul Horton, Daryl Swanson, Bev Morton, Jenny Tricker, Jerrold Sovey, Dayle Williamson and Treasurer, Angie Unruh.

February Minutes - The February 2018 minutes were reviewed and there was a motion by Bev Morton and a second by Paul Horton to approve the minutes as circulated. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report - Annual Account – February income was $2,091.19 Expenditures were $1150.89.

Townhouse Account - Income for February was $4,937.96, with $4,124.54 in expenditures. There was a motion by Paul Horton and a second by Jerrold Sovey to approve the financial reports and to renew Certificate of Deposit 590802. Motion carried.

Bills received prior to the meeting for both the Annual and Townhouse accounts were reviewed. Annual Account bills were $1,326.96 and Townhouse Account bills were $18,123.65. Louis Lemon made a motion to pay the bills with a second by Jenny Tricker. Motion carried. The Association’s snow removal contractor sent an invoice for the entire winter for $13,350.00, excluding the two removals that were due when the Board signed the 2017-18 contract. Two of the “light snows” were billed for 50% of the contract price. All other Townhouse account invoices were routine, monthly invoices. Seventy-four percent of the homeowners’ have paid their annual dues. For those that have not paid, mail your check to Treasurer, Angie Unruh, P.O. Box 6653, Lincoln, NE 68506-0653. Late charges are assessed after March 10.

Hospitality Committee – Two townhouses have been sold and one additional house is up for sale. Members of the committee make personal visits as new families arrive in the neighborhood and provide information about the Edenton Homeowners’ Association Inc. The committee also reviewed the covenants regarding the temporary parking of recreational vehicles.

Garage Sale Announcement - The Edenton Annual Garage Sale will be held on Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5, 2018. Board member Bev Morton has again volunteered to manage this community activity. Large signs will be placed at 70th and Glynoaks and 70th and Edenton a week before the event. A $5.00 donation to cover costs of printing and advertising is asked from each sale participant. Make your check payable to the Edenton Homeowners’ Association Inc. and mail it or deliver it to Bev Morton at 7400 Grand Oaks Drive, 68516. Include the following with your payment: your home address and contact phone number, which days you plan to have your sale, a brief list of items you are selling and your e-mail address. For additional information or questions, contact Bev Morton at 402-484-7142 or 402-450-4080. (Okay to leave a message at either number and a text to the last number is acceptable)

Emerald Ash Borer Response – Board members were not able to attend the public meeting on control plans for the Emerald Ash Borer held on March 13, 2018. The board plans to be proactive to assure an ash tree removal “crisis” does not fall on the Association all at once.

Commons area - Chairman Larsen will check with a handyman on costs to reinstall three sections of the wooden fence along 70th Street which were blown down by a recent wind. Board members offered to assist with the work. Other cleanup work in the Commons area will be required as Spring arrives. Hiring assistance was discussed.

Lawn care – Daryl Swanson reported that lawn care work will begin in early April. If residents note overwinter damage on sprinkler heads, please advise Daryl or DeLoyd.

Topics of the Month - As a reminder, starting April 1, 2018, clean and dry corrugated cardboard cannot go in the garbage. Recycle it! LINCOLN MUNICIPAL CODE 8.32. For those in the Edenton Association area that may not have recycling service, check https://lincoln.ne.gov/city/pworks/solid-waste/pdf/guide.pdf?2018 for information. Townhomes in the area are handled under a single contract for recycling with Uribe Refuse Services at www.recycle.net.

he Maxey School PTO is holding their annual plant sale to raise money for playground improvements. If you are interested in supporting the school, annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, planters and hanging baskets can be ordered at www.janetsjungle.com/lincoln-nebraska-maxey-elementary.html The sale started March 2 and will end April 6. The children have been asked not to go door to door making sales. Check the website to see how it works. Those that have purchased plants in the past have reported excellent satisfaction.
